{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Scottsdale Mint has created a silver round series that highlights colorized images of familiar wildlife found throughout North America. Known as The Wild, this lineup brings together a shared reverse design with different obverse artwork for each animal in the collection. Every round is secured inside a Certi-Lock card, giving you a consistent way to ship, store, and display your silver. Now, 1 oz Silver Colorized The Wild Polar Bear Rounds from Scottsdale Mint are available online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 1 oz Silver Colorized The Wild Polar Bear Round is individually packaged in a sealed Certi-Lock card. The front of the card displays the series name, and the back of the card includes the phrase Pure Silver, Pure Wild.
Obverse
On the obverse of the Silver Colorized The Wild Polar Bear Round, youll notice a large polar bear standing on a shelf of ice as the sun sets behind it, filling the sky with soft shades of color. Polar bears are well-suited to life in the Arctic, with a thick, double-layered coat and hollow, translucent guard hairs that help direct sunlight down to their dark skin for added warmth. A deep layer of blubber helps with insulation and buoyancy in cold waters, while their wide pawsmeasuring up to 12 inches acrossserve as natural snowshoes on ice and strong paddles while swimming. The inscriptions include POLAR BEAR.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Colorized The Wild Polar Bear Round shows the shared design used across the series. This artwork presents a front-facing view of a white-tailed deer skull. Around the outer edge of the round, you will find the identifying hallmarks along with the series title. The inscriptions read SCOTTSDALE MINT, THE WILD, 1 TROY OUNCE, and 999 SILVER.
History
In North America, polar bears live throughout the circumpolar Arctic regions, including areas of Alaska and Canada, and can sometimes drift toward the northern United States on sea ice. Canada is home to about two-thirds of the worlds polar bear population. These top predators are closely tied to sea ice, where they spend much of their time hunting ringed and bearded seals.
