Their Super Bowl XLIV win in 2010 cemented their place in football history, while in New Orleans, they remain a symbol of pride and perseverance. Fans and collectors alike can celebrate the team with the 1 oz Silver Colorized NFL New Orleans Saints Round, now available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 1 oz Silver Colorized NFL New Orleans Saints Round is struck in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes housed in a plastic flip. This piece is part of the larger NFL silver round series, which includes both Brilliant Uncirculated and colorized silver rounds for every team across the league.
Obverse
On the obverse of the Colorized Silver NFL New Orleans Saints Round, the teams fleur-de-lis logo takes center stage. The fleur-de-lis is an enduring symbol of New Orleans French history and cultural influence. The teams official palette of black, white, and old gold emphasizes tradition and gives the franchise a unique look compared to other teams. The inscriptions here include NEW ORLEANS SAINTS and EST. 1967.
Reverse
The reverse design of 1 oz Silver Colorized New Orleans Saints Rounds features the NFL shield, an iconic symbol of the league. This design includes the NFL initials at the center, a football icon above, and a total of eight stars, representing the four divisions of the AFC and the four divisions of the NFC. Inscriptions here include NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, EST. 1920, ONE TROY OUNCE, and .999 FINE SILVER.
History
Established in 1967 as an NFL expansion franchise, the Saints got their name from the classic song When the Saints Go Marching In, a tune closely associated with New Orleans jazz culture. The early years were tough, with the team often referred to as the Aints. But everything changed in 2006 when they returned to their home city after Hurricane Katrina, representing a renewed spirit for both the team and the community. Under the leadership of head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees, the Saints went on to win their first championship in 2010.
