{{/presale}}There is perhaps no national flag more easily identifiable than the American flag. Known as the Stars and Stripes or Old Glory, the American flag has remained largely the same in appearance since it was first devised during the American Revolution and adopted as the nation gained independence. Todays flag is a symbol of hope to millions around the world. Provident Metals now proudly offers the 1 oz Silver Colorized American Flag Bar to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 1 oz Silver Colorized American Flag Bars online at Provident Metals, you will receive a silver bar that was made in the USA by SilverTowne. Each bar comes with its own protective capsule and boasts a colorized finish on the obverse design element.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the Silver Colorized American Flag Bar is a depiction of the American flag. Old Glory is shown here with its blue field in the upper left that boasts 50 white stars. The remainder of the flags design consists of thirteen horizontal stripes that include seven red stripes and six white. The image of the American flag on this side was enhanced through a hand-painted enameling process that brings the vibrance of the Stars and Stripes to life.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 1 oz Silver Colorized American Flag Bar comes with a blank design element. SilverTowne leaves the central field blank to allow for custom engraving, but delivers the bars blank as-is to dealers. The field does include a wreath border with inscriptions of ONE OUNCE, .999 FINE SILVER, and the pickax mint mark of SilverTowne.
History
The American flag first developed during the Revolutionary War did not look too different from todays Stars and Stripes. The flag consisted of the same thirteen stripes and a field of blue, but the 13 stars representing the first states were arranged in a circle at this time. The Stars and Stripes was immortalized in the American consciousness during the War of 1812 as Francis Scott Key watched the brave American defenders at Fort McHenry sustain the onslaught of the Royal Navy without giving up the fort. When the dawn broke the next day, the American flag still flew overhead.
