{{/presale}}One of the first states to legalized recreational cannabis was Oregon. Long before cannabis became legal for recreational use in the state of Oregon, it was the first state to decriminalize small amounts of cannabis in the possession of an individual and was the first to authorize cannabis for medical use. Provident Metals currently has 1 oz Silver Antique Legalized Collection Oregon Rounds available to purchase online.

When you purchase a 1 oz Silver Antique Legalized Collection Oregon Round through Provident Metals, you receive a silver round that is individually housed inside of a protective blisterpack. Each one has an antique polish that creates a matte visual and old-world charm for the finished product.
Obverse
A cannabis leaf is featured on the obverse of all Silver Antique Legalized Collection Rounds as the common visual element of the series. The design includes a large cannabis leaf in the center that has leaf hands cuffed. A chain around the outer edge of the design points to the federal governments continued war on cannabis.
Reverse
Oregons state seal is showcased on the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Antique Legalized Collection Round with modifications that celebrate the states 2014 legalization of recreational cannabis. The state shield includes an American bald eagle with the US national shield at the top, as well as an ox-driven wagon at the bottom. As an alteration to note the legalization of cannabis, a hand emerges in the center holding up a single cannabis leaf. Inscriptions read State of Oregon, The Return to Nature, Measure 91 2015.
History
Numerous states across the US enacted prohibition laws regarding cannabis in the early 20th century, with Oregon being a latecomer in the movement by outlawing cannabis in 1923 and enhancing its laws in 1935 to better align with the laws enacted by other states. Less than a half-century later, Oregon became the first to decriminalize cannabis when it did so in 1973. Oregon was the first to legalize medicinal cannabis when it did so in 1998 and then was the third to legalize recreational cannabis with the passage of Measure 91 in 2015.
