Obverse
On the obverse of the Silver 2026 Dove Of Peace Round, the design features a dove captured in flight. Shown from the left side, the dove moves above the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem with its wings lifted. An olive branch is held in its beak, completing the image and symbolizing peace. The inscriptions include DOVE OF PEACE.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Dove Of Peace Round presents the official emblem of The Holy Land Mint. The logo is centered within the design field, with inscriptions around it identifying the rounds weight, purity, metal content, and year. The inscriptions read THE HOLY LAND MINT, JERUSALEM, ONE TROY OUNCE, 999 FINE SILVER, and 2026.
History
The dove of peace has long been recognized as a symbol that crosses cultures and time periods. It appears in early art and religious accounts, including the story of Noahs ark, and has remained relevant through modern interpretations. One of the most notable uses came from Pablo Picasso, whose 1949 lithograph helped establish the image as a widely accepted symbol of peace and unity.
