{{/presale}}Diwali, also called Deepavali, is a cherished festival in Hindu culture, celebrated by people across India and around the world. Known as the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. This festival is typically celebrated between October and November, depending on the lunar calendar. Right now, 1 oz Silver 2024 Happy Diwali Medallions are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 1 oz Silver 2024 Happy Diwali Medallions are presented individually, each containing 1 Troy ounce of .9999 pure silver and coated with 24-karat gold plating on both sides. These medallions are packaged in a black presentation case from Perth Mint and come with a Diwali-themed box and a Certificate of Authenticity.
Obverse
The obverse side of the Silver 2024 Happy Diwali Medallion features Ganesha seated on a cushion. Ganesha, one of Hinduisms most beloved deities, is easily recognized by his elephant head. He is revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and learning. Ganesha is often shown with a large belly, several arms, and riding a mouse, representing his ability to overcome any obstacle. Inscriptions read 1 OZ 9999 SILVER and HAPPY DIWALI.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Happy Diwali Medallion, youll find Lakshmi sitting on a lotus flower. Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. She is typically portrayed as a beautiful woman with four arms, seated or standing on a lotus flower, with gold coins flowing from her hands, symbolizing her blessings of wealth and abundance. The inscription on this side reads HAPPY DIWALI.
History
Diwali has its origins in ancient Hindu stories, with different regions celebrating various legends. In Northern India, the festival marks Lord Rama’s return after his victory over Ravana. In Southern India, it celebrates Lord Krishna’s defeat of the demon Narakasura. Regardless of the legend, Diwalis central theme is the triumph of good over evil.
