Alternately, multiples of 20 will ship in plastic tubes.
Obverse
For the obverse of Don’t Mess with Texas Longhorn 1 oz Silver Rounds a Texas longhorn is found roaming across the open prairie. When traveling, this cattle breed can go for days without water while subsisting only on the brush. This has helped earn them their reputation as resilient, tough creatures.
Reverse
For the reverse side of Don’t Mess with Texas Longhorn 1 oz Silver Rounds the official series logo is depicted. This design showcases a longhorn skull in the center emblazoned with the outline of Texas on its forehead. To the right and left of this skull, you will find branches of olive and oak. Youll see inscriptions featured as well that read DONT MESS WITH TEXAS, ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER.
History
The Texas longhorn originated in the Iberian Peninsula before being brought over to the Americas beginning in the early 16th century. These cattle journeyed to the West Indies before arriving in Mexico and eventually Texas. With horns that reach nearly ten feet, the Longhorn is easy to identify among its fellow cattle breeds. In 1995, the longhorn was announced as the official state large mammal of Texas.
