{{/presale}}The Germania Series of rounds honors the historic roots of the German people on the European continent. The image of Germania, a female personification for Germanic people, arose from the Romantic Era in Europe and later became associated with the German Empire in 1871. Her figure is now paired with a camouflage pattern honoring another historic German figure on an enhanced silver round. Provident Metals currently has 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Camouflage Rounds with Barbarossa camouflage available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Camouflage Round through this Provident Metals listing, you receive an item that is housed in an impressive display. The round sits inside of a clear, acrylic display on a folding stand that can either lie flat or be propped upright for display. The round and case ship in a themed sleeve and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
Obverse
Germania features in the second design of the series on the obverse 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Camouflage Rounds. Striking a confident pose as her cape blows in the wind, Germania extends her arm so a double-headed eagle can land on her forearm. She has a stoic gaze and wears a wreath crown. The inscriptions here read Germania 2020 and 1 oz 999.9 Fine Silver.
Reverse
The double-headed eagle representing the Germania Mint features on the reverse side of Silver 2020 Germania Camouflage Rounds. The double-headed eagle clutches arrow-tipped lightning bolts in its talons and is flanked by a wreath. The inscriptions on this side include 5 Mark and Germania.
History
Both sides of these silver rounds come with a red camouflage scheme. This color scheme is in honor of Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor. Known as Frederick Barbarossa, with Barbarossa being Italian for red beard, he rose from Duke of Swabia in 1152 to cobble together a new Holy Roman Empire on the European continent.
Throughout several decades and various military campaigns, he would rise to become the King of Burgundy, King of Germany, and King of Italy. After unifying all of those crowns and extending the reach of his empire, Barbarossa was crowned Emperor by Pope Adrian IV in Rome on June 18, 1155.
