{{/presale}}For the American buyer of palladium bars, theres no greater piece to seek out than the Palladium Stillwater Bars from Johnson Matthey. The bars not only feature palladium refined and produced in the United States, but also bars featuring palladium mined from within the United States. Provident Metals currently has 1 oz Palladium Stillwater Bars available as Secondary Market items for you to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you buy the 1 oz Palladium Stillwater Bar in this listing at Provident Metals, you will receive a bar that is still housed in its original, sealed blistercard. The blisterpack has an assay and a capsule space for the bar. Each one is a Secondary Market item that was not received by Provident Metals directly from Johnson Matthey. While the bars are packaged safely in the original blistercards, you may still notice minor scuffs, scratches, or other issues with the packaging itself.
Obverse
Lewis & Clark are depicted in left-profile relief on the obverse of the 1 oz Palladium Stillwater Bars. This design was replicated across countless Stillwater Palladium designs from Johnson Matthey. In this design, Lewis & Clark stand alongside one another surveying the land in front of them. The lone inscription reads Stillwater Palladium.
Reverse
The identifying hallmarks of the 1 oz Palladium Stillwater Bar feature on this face of the piece. The weight, purity, and metal content are found at the top of the design element as 1 Troy oz., Palladium, and 999.5. The bottom of the design field features three waving, vertical lines with Certified Stillwater Palladium beneath.
History
The Stillwater Complex is a layered intrusion in the Beartooth Mountains in southern Montana. This region has long been known as a source of chromium, and in more recent decades, for platinum and palladium. In fact, the Stillwater Complex, as it is known, is one of the four known major sources of palladium in the world. It is similar in nature to the Bushveld Complex in South Africa, the largest palladium deposit in the world.
