{{/presale}}When you think of gold bars, you probably conjure up images of the bricks featured in movies and television shows that are found in bank vaults before some craft criminal begins their heist plans. However, gold bars can come in rectangular and square shapes, as well as a variety of other shapes like skulls. Today, you can purchase a unique square-shaped bar produced by Geiger Edelmetalle from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These bars ship in a special security capsule to protect the metal from damage during the shipping and storing process. The capsule also makes it easier to display your bar without the risk of damage.
The bars also feature special security tactics that prevent counterfeiting. For this reason, the bar should stay inside the security capsule, so you can prove that it is legitimate. Other security features include a special pearl finish on the surface of the bars, a ribbed edge, and a high-relief design. There is also a serial number on each bar. A special UV coating has also been placed in a certain spot on the bars that can only be seen under black light.
Obverse
The obverse face of each bar includes the stamped image of Schloss Guldengossa. This building, which is actually a castle, is the first registered office for the mint. The castle, which is located just outside of Leipzig, Germany, was built back in 1720.
Reverse
On the obverse side, you will see a repeating pattern featuring the LEV rhombus logo. An additional LEV rhombus will appear in the center of the bar when it is placed under black light.
History
Geiger Edelmetalle is one of the oldest operating minting facilities in the world. The family-owned facility originally opened in 1218 in Germanys Saxony region. The mint was opened to produce precious metals during the gold and silver boom in the 13th century in that area.
