{{/presale}}There are a wide variety of gold bars available to investors, particularly when you shop the range of 1 oz gold specimens. While some bars are brand new, Secondary Market bars are also available that offer you the chance to not only potentially save money when investing, but also to get bars that are no longer in production. Right now, you can buy 1 oz Gold Bars from Johnson Matthey online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of the 1 oz Gold Bars in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a Johnson Matthey-made gold bar that is offered as a Secondary Market item. Each bar comes with individual plastic bags and/or protective bubble wrap. As Secondary Market bars, these are items that Provident Metals did not receive directly from the manufacturer. It is common for these types of bars to have signs of wear and tear or other common flaws.
Obverse
In the obverse design of the Gold Bar available here, you will find the Johnson Matthey name and logo. The logo is a rectangle with the JM initials of the business next to crossed hammers. Beneath this, there are markings of JOHNSON MATTHEY ASSAYERS & REFINERS. Other markings on this side of the bar include FINE GOLD, 9999, 1 OUNCE TROY, and a serial number.
Reverse
For the reverse design field, the 1 oz Gold Bar from Johnson Matthey showcases the mint logo. This time, the logo is set at an angle and repeats several times across the face of the bar.
History
Johnson Matthey was involved in the precious metals industry for nearly two centuries, first as a gold assaying office and gold assayer to the Bank of England, and later as a major refiner of precious metals bullion. In 2016, Johnson Matthey sold its precious metals assets to Asahi Refining from Japan.
