{{/presale}}The Zi:Sin Gallus Series is KOMSCOs latest foray into the international precious metals marketplace. The mint made a splash in 2016 with the release of the Chiwoo Cheonwang and Tiger medallions. In 2017, KOMSCO introduced the Zi:Sin Series as an alternative to other lunar-themed designs. Right now, you can buy the 1 oz Gold 2017 South Korean Zi:Sin Gallus Medal at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Your purchase of the 1 oz Gold 2017 South Korean Zi:Sin Gallus Medal comes with an individual protective plastic capsule or a sealed roll for multiples of 20 gold medals. Each of the individual gold medals in this series is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Obverse
The obverse side of 1 oz Gold 2017 South Korean Zi:Sin Gallus Medals features a depiction of Do ggae bi. Known as a hobgoblin-like figure in Korean culture, Do ggae bis face was often used on homes to help ward off evil spirits. The mythical God of War, Chiwoo Cheonwang, used the face of Do ggae bi on his shield in battle to further frighten his enemies.
Reverse
On the reverse of 1 oz Gold 2017 South Korean Zi:Sin Gallus Medals, you will find the depiction of Gallus. The first warrior to feature in the Zi:Sin Series from KOMSCO, Gallus watches the west for the rise of evil. He is depicted in this design with full battle armor on and a long spear in hand. Among his powers, Gallus can foresee the future and can control bright lights as the messenger of light to blind his enemies on the field of battle.
History
Gallus is a term that is inherently masculine and often refers to a rooster. The combination of the 12 Guardian designs in the Zi:Sin Series and the image of Gallus reflects the fact that 2017 is the Year of the Rooster, offering KOMSCO a unique alternative to other lunar-themed collections.
Ordering
The Zi:Sin Series of medals come from KOMSCO with 1 oz silver and gold bullion options, as well as a number of other proof versions in the series.
