{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Blue Angels were established in 1946 at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. Originally known as the Navy Flight Exhibition Team, their mission was to promote the capabilities of naval aviation and boost recruitment following World War II. The team later adopted the name Blue Angels, inspired by a New York City nightclub visited by some of the original pilots. Provident Metals now offers 1 oz Copper United States Navy Blue Angels Rounds to honor this iconic flight team.
Round Highlights:
Each 1 oz Copper United States Navy Blue Angels Round is shipped in a protective plastic flip when purchased individually. Bulk quantities are offered in tubes of 20 rounds or boxes of 500 rounds, with each box containing 25 tubes.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the Copper United States Navy Blue Angels Round is the official emblem worn by Blue Angels pilots. The shield-shaped design is split diagonally. The upper-right section features four F/A-18 aircraft in tight formation above a clouded sky. In the lower-left section is the Naval Air Training Command emblem, displaying the Navys eagle-and-anchor insignia and a silhouette of an aircraft carrier.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Copper US Navy Blue Angels Round features a view of the Blue Angels jets mid-flight. This artwork shows four F/A-18 Super Hornets as they break from formation, each with a smoke trail to mark their paths in a precision maneuver.
History
Today, the Blue Angels operate the F/A-18 Super Hornet and continue to represent naval aviation at air shows throughout the United States. Their impressive aerobatic routines reflect the skill and coordination of the Navy and Marine Corps, inspiring audiences and encouraging interest in naval careers and science, technology, engineering, and math fields.
