{{/presale}}One of the most important holiday festivals celebrated at the end of the calendar year is Hanukkah. A Jewish festival marking the reclamation of Jerusalem in the 2nd century BCE, Hanukkah is celebrated by followers of Judaism around the world. As with Christmas, mints typically offer Hanukkah-themed products to buyers during this season of the year. Provident Metals now has 1 oz Copper Hanukkah Rounds available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase 1 oz Copper Hanukkah Rounds in this listing online at Provident Metals, you will receive individual 1 oz copper rounds inside plastic flips. Multiples in this series ship in protective tubes of 20 copper rounds or boxes of 500 rounds. All of the rounds are newly struck for 2021.
Obverse
On the obverse side of Copper Hanukkah Rounds is an image of the menorah. A popular symbol of the festival season, a menorah consists of nine candles in total. The central candle, known as a shamash, is lit throughout the festival. Each night, this central candle is used to light the other candles on the menorah, one additional candle for each night that passes during the eight-night festival. The design element includes a Star of David at the center with an inscription of HAPPY HANUKKAH above the menorah.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 1 oz Copper Hanukkah Round comes with a common design element used by the mint across its holiday-themed copper issues. Here, the design field shows several snowflakes of varying sizes and designs falling through the field to capture the spirit of the winter season and its many festivals. There are inscriptions of .999 FINE COPPER and ONE AVDP OUNCE around the edge of the design field.
History
These particular copper rounds celebrate the festival of Hanukkah. The eight-night festival is held at different times each year on the Gregorian calendar followed by Western Christian nations. Those who celebrate Hanukkah always begin the festival on the 25th day of the month of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar. In 2021, this results in the festival being celebrated from November 28th to December 6th.
