Each collectible in the Soldier Bullion series celebrates a different kind of American battlefield hero from the Second World War. American infantrymen often worked in “fire teams” in which each member had a different focus. One of the keys to their defense and survival against incoming enemy fire was the “greaseman,” who carried the reliable and fast-firing M3 submachine gun and provided close fire support for the team’s machine gunner and rifleman as they engaged distant targets. He’s celebrated by the second design in the series, the 1 oz Copper Greaseman Gary Round now offered by Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Single rounds arrive in a plastic flip, with larger orders shipping in tubes of 20 or in boxes of 500!
  • Second design in the Soldier Bullion series!
  • Contains 1 ADVP oz of .999 pure copper.
  • Obverse side features the Soldier Bullion logo.
  • Reverse side features a portrait of Greaseman Gary.

The Copper Greaseman Gary Round features artwork of an American hero in action on the battlefield, presented in pure copper with a high-quality design. Rounds ship fully insured against loss or damage, arriving individually in plastic flips or packaged in tubes of 20 or boxes of 500 for larger orders.

Obverse

The Soldier Bullion logo dominates the round’s obverse side, an American military star surrounded by stylized light rays with the bold inscription “Soldier Bullion” at the center.

Reverse

A soldier with an M3 submachine gun moves across a smoky battlefield on the round’s reverse side, wearing a confident smile as he seeks out the enemy. His name, “Greaseman Gary,” appears at the lower rim, with three stars on either side.

History

The “Silver Soldiers” series of miniatures provided a popular recent tribute to the infantry squadrons of the Second World War, recalling the Army Man toys known to generations of American children. That playful spirit, combined with accurate historical detail, inspires the Soldier Bullion series, which likewise provides collectibles to commemorate each of an American fire team’s specialized members and brings out a specific personality and attitude for all of them. “Greaseman Gary” is the second issue in a series sure to be sought-after by history buffs and discerning collectors.
