Highlights:
With your purchase of the 1 oz Copper Christmas Wreath Rounds online at Provident Metals, you will receive brand-new copper rounds issued by the Osborne Mint. The rounds are available individually in protective flips, by multiples of 20 rounds in plastic tubes, and by multiples of 500 copper rounds in boxes. The box holds a total of 25 tubes.
Obverse
An ornate Christmas wreath is featured on the obverse side of the Copper Christmas Wreath Rounds. Christmas wreaths are made from evergreen bows, historically, as a symbol of the everlasting life of Jesus Christ. The use of wreaths at Christmas time originated with followers of the Luthern faith in 16th century Germany. The wreath has floral elements with other ornate pieces. There is an inscription in the middle of the wreath of MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Reverse
There is a common design element on the reverse field of 1 oz Copper Christmas Wreath Rounds. Designed by Osborne Mint, the field includes a variety of different snowflakes. The inscriptions around the design element in the center include .999 FINE COPPER above the snowflakes and ONE AVDP OUNCE below the design of the snowflakes.
History
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Though the actual date of Christs birth remains a mystery to this day, the Christian church eventually pinned Christs birth to a specific day that could be celebrated annually on the same day. The new Gregorian calendar pins the birth of Christ to December 25th.
