Highlights:
These 1 oz Silver Colorized The Wild Caribou Rounds are offered individually and arrive protected inside Certi-Lock cards. The colorful obverse artwork adds visual interest, while the silver content appeals to those seeking precious metal products. As part of The Wild Series, this round joins a broader collection celebrating the strength and adaptability of North Americas wildlife.
Obverse
The obverse of the Silver Colorized The Wild Caribou Round features a detailed scene showing a caribou standing across an open tundra landscape. Snowcapped mountains stretch across the horizon as warm sunset tones color the sky behind the animal. Caribou are large members of the deer family found throughout northern North America, including Alaska, Canada, and Greenland. Their thick, hollow fur helps retain body heat, while their broad hooves make it easier to walk across snow and uneven terrain. Inscriptions include CARIBOU.
Reverse
The reverse design on the 1 oz Silver Colorized The Wild Caribou Round is consistent across the entire series. It displays a forward-facing image of a white-tailed deer skull crafted with sharp lines and defined relief. Surrounding inscriptions list the rounds weight, silver purity, and series name, providing essential details while maintaining a clean overall appearance. Inscriptions read SCOTTSDALE MINT, THE WILD, 1 TROY OUNCE, and 999 SILVER.
History
Unlike most deer species, both male and female caribou grow antlers, which they shed and regrow annually. Over time, caribou have been grouped into several ecotypes, such as woodland, barren-ground, and mountain caribou. Each group occupies different environments and displays unique migration habits, feeding behaviors, and physical traits based on its surroundings.
