Design
The 1 Kilo FIFA Trophy Silver Statues are modeled after the original design by Silvio Gazzaniga and are supported by a black base. This base features Qatars official emblem for the 2022 World Cup, which is a swirling band shaped like an 8. This represents both the Infinity Symbol as well as the fact that there will be 8 stadiums for the 2022 tournament. An inscription beneath this reads FIFA WORLD CUP, QATAR 2022. The trophy itself consists of lines that, in the words of Gazzaniga, spring out of the base, rising in spirals, stretching out to receive the world. In this stunning, impressionistic design, we see two athletes extending their bodies in victory as they hoist the globe above their heads.
History
There has been an official trophy for the World Cup ever since its inaugural tournament in 1930. Named after tournament founder Jules Rimet, the first trophy had a tumultuous existence, to say the least. In the 1940s it was hidden under the bed of sports official Ottorino Barassi to prevent the Nazis from seizing it. Then in 1966, it was stolen, only to be recovered in a bush by a dog named Pickles. The trophy was stolen a second time in 1983 from Brazil, who had gained sole possession of the trophy thanks to their three World Championships. The trophy was never found this time, and many believe it was melted down and sold. The second trophy, called the FIFA World Cup Trophy, is valued at over 20 million dollars and has been in use since 1974.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
