Each 1 Hades Standard Silverback Silver Note is securely housed in a clear plastic currency sleeve designed to protect its condition. These notes are graded PPQ 70, or Perfect Premium Quality, using a 70-point grading system. A PPQ 70 designation confirms the note shows no visible flaws under magnification, features precise alignment, complete margins, and retains its original paper quality. As the inaugural release in the Legends of Olympus Series, this Hades note begins a collection centered on the major Olympian gods.

Design

The obverse of the Hades Standard Silverback Silver Note shows Hades standing firmly while holding the leash of Cerberus, the guardian of the underworld. The underworld, which shared its name with its ruler, was described as a vast realm beneath the earth where every soul traveled after death. Cerberus, the three-headed hound, guarded the entrance to ensure that no soul could escape once it had crossed over.

History

In Greek mythology, Hades held a position of authority that was often misunderstood. After overthrowing the Titans, Hades and his brothers divided control of the universe, with Hades ruling the underworld, Zeus commanding the skies, and Poseidon overseeing the seas. Despite holding equal power, Hades rarely appeared on Mount Olympus and remained distant from the affairs of gods and mortals. This separation led many to fear him, as he governed the realm all souls would eventually enter, even though he was not portrayed as cruel or malicious.
