{{/presale}}Modern notes from the United States Treasury have moved away from the artistic displays that once graced American paper currency, but that doesnt mean it isnt possible to improve the visual appeal of US notes. Private mints have developed modern techniques to apply colorization to uncirculated paper notes to enhance the visual appeal of each piece. Today, you have the chance to get $1 Colorized Legal Tender Notes online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The US $1 Federal Reserve Note is the smallest denomination of US paper money in production today and has been the lowest denomination issued by the US Treasury since 1876. The $1 bill is the most common in production today, with an estimated 42% of notes in circulation being $1 bills. On average, the US $1 bill is in circulation for just over 6-and-a-half years before it is replaced due to wear and tear. Modern us money is made from a mixture of 75% cotton and 25% linen.
Obverse
President George Washington is featured on the obverse of $1 Colorized Legal Tender Notes. The image of Washington found on $1 bills comes from the Athenaeum Portrait, an unfinished painting of then-President George Washington that was started in 1796. The portrait captures Washington at the age of 65. The notations on the modern bill include Federal Reserve Note, United States of America, 1 in the four corners, and One Dollar below. The portrait of President Washington, the ornate elements surrounding the porthole image, and the face value noted below the design have all been enhanced with colorized visuals.
Reverse
The Great Seal of the United States and the all-seeing eye are found in the reverse design of $1 Colorized Legal Tender Notes. This design was approved in 1935 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. President Roosevelt is responsible for the layout of the design as the originally proposed redesign of the $1 bill set the all-seeing eye on the right and the Great Seal on the left. Roosevelt recommended switching the designs to feature the all-seeing eye on the left and the Great Seal on the right. Colorization is present across the central field with In God We Trust and ONE set against a golden backdrop. Both design elements are flanked by colorized visuals on the all-seeing eye and Great Seal.
History
The modern $1 Federal Reserve Note has the oldest combined designs on the obverse and reverse. The portrait of Washington featured on the obverse was last modified in 1963 when the first $1 Federal Reserve Notes were printed. The reverse design was modified in 1935 for the Silver Certificate.
