Highlights
Obverse
The obverse of this Inspirational Bible Heroes Gold Coin includes several inscriptions. Within the image itself is the inscription RECEIVE MY INSTRUCTION, AND NOT SILVER; AND KNOWLEDGE RATHER THAN CHOICE GOLD PROV. 8-10. This quoting of a Proverb is fitting for a coin that features an image of Solomon, as he is believed to have written the book of Proverbs that appears in the Old Testament. The image on the obverse is of Solomon reading a scroll and holding a bag that could contain coins, as if he’s personally caught in the moment of deciding between instruction or gold. Other inscriptions include INSPIRATIONAL BIBLICAL HEROES and SOLOMON 4757 4817 AM.
Reverse
Inscriptions on the reverse include AUSTRALIA FAIR 7790, SOVEREIGN BIBLICAL HERITAGE, and PERTH MINT AUSTRALIA 1/4 SHEKEL WEIGHT (2.85 GM) 9999 GOLD. The 7790 is a date in keeping with an ancient Hebrew calendar and not the modern calendar. The reverse also includes an image of a shield with a stylized floral design seeming to flow out of it.
Packaging
The coin ships in a protective plastic capsule, so you can have peace of mind about it arriving safely. You can also use the transparent capsule to store or display your coin to keep it in the best possible shape.
History
King Solomon is a historic king of Israel. He was the son of King David. It’s said that God offered Solomon anything he asked for and Solomon asked for wisdom. Because he didn’t ask for fame or riches and instead asked for something with more value, God gave him all of those things too. Solomon is believed to be the author of several Old Testament books including Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Some believe he is also the author of Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon). Under the reign of Solomon, the Temple was built in Jerusalem for the first time.
