{{/presale}}Switzerland is a major hub of precious metals refining in the world and Argor-Heraeus is one of the global leaders in this field. Not only does Argor-Heraeus create minted ingots in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium for traders and banks, it produces precious metal items for the electronics, chemical, and jewelry industries. Right now, you can buy 1/10 oz Gold Bars from Argor-Heraeus online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Provident Metals offers the 1/10 oz Gold Bars from Argor-Heraeus in this listing in brand-new condition. Each one of the gold bars is packaged inside of its own transparent blisterpack. The sealed blisterpack includes a capsule space to house and protect the bar, as well as an assay card around the capsule. The assay identifies the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number of the bar, and also comes with the signature of a certified assayer.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 1/10 oz Gold Bars from Argor-Heraeus is an engraving of the mint logo with the nation of issue, weight, metal content, purity, and serial number. The Argor-Heraeus logo consists of a central circle with AH inside and Argor-Heraeus SA in the outer rim around this central circle. The identifying inscriptions below this read Switzerland, 1/10 ounce, Fine Gold, 999.9, and the serial number assigned to the bar. All serial numbers are in a six-number code and come with the stamp of an assayer on this face.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 1/10 oz Gold Bars is left blank on purpose. Argor-Heraeus does not strike designs on the reverse field of its bars. Both the cast gold bars and these classic minted ingots are left blank on the reverse on purpose. In the case of minted ingots such as these, Argor-Heraeus leaves the reverse blank so it can use this face to emboss the kinegram when producing its Kinebar Bars.
History
Argor-Heraeus has become a leading precious metals refiner and the leading provider of precious metals services in the 21st century. The mint was founded in 1951 in Chiasso, Switzerland, but is currently headquartered in Mendrisio, Switzerland. The mint was acquired by Union Bank of Switzerland in 1973 and restructured following a 1986 joint venture between UBS and the German Heraeus group, resulting in the modern Argor-Heraeus Mint.
