{{/presale}}Since its introduction in 1964, the Kennedy Half Dollar has stood as a testament to modern coin design within the United States. As the largest regularly issued denomination, it holds a prominent position among collectors and private mints, offering opportunities for unique enhancements such as ruthenium plating and gold applications. Now, collectors can add the distinguished 2024-P JFK Black Ruthenium Half Dollar Gold Clad Coins to their collection, available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2024-P JFK Black Ruthenium Half Dollar Coin available at Provident Metals comes meticulously encapsulated and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring its legitimacy. These legal tender coins feature a layer of black ruthenium on both obverse and reverse, complemented by 24-karat gold plating on President Kennedy’s profile and the majestic eagle adorning the reverse.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 2024-P JFK Half Dollar Coins, collectors will find Roberts masterful portrayal of President John F. Kennedy, derived from his previous work for the Presidential Medal Series during Kennedy’s tenure. The inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2024, and the P mint mark of the Philadelphia Mint.
Reverse
Conversely, the reverse face of the 2024 JFK Black Ruthenium Half Dollars showcases a depiction of the presidential seal, crafted by Frank Gasparro, a future Chief Engraver at the US Mint. This emblematic design features a forward-facing bald eagle, grasping an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left, symbolizing peace and preparedness, respectively. Inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and HALF DOLLAR.
History
Prior to becoming Chief Engraver, Roberts worked for the Medallic Art Company in New York City, where he gained experience in creating medals and plaques. His work at the Medallic Art Company helped him develop the skills necessary for coin design.
